Sounds of Helsinki

Like many French schools in Europe, The school of Jules Verne took part in the project “Portrait of Europe: women, men, cities” http://www.portraitsdeurope-aefe.org/

Pupils of CE2, CM1 and CM2 had to create a composition that represents their city, Helsinki.

The pupils selected the symbolic sounds of Helsinki after discussions in classroom: sounds of the tram, the footsteps in the snow, the boats, seagulls and of course sauna.

Once the different sounds were recorded, we had to write a score, to select  the sounds and to put them in order.

This is our final and collective production. Will you recognize the sounds we have selected?
