GOVERNANCE

The French School Jules Verne exists since 1976. Our small school has big supporters: we are the only school in Finland that belongs to the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad).

Administrative responsibility: the school’s support association

The French School Jules Verne is a private school managed by a non-profit organisation under the Finnish law: the school’s support association. Any parent of (or person entrusted with parental custody over) a child attending the school is automatically a member of the association. The association has signed a management agreement with the AEFE. Thus, the voices and the views of the parents play a special role in the school’s activities due to this administrative responsibility.

Pedagogical responsibility: Head teacher appointed by the French Ministry of Education

The Head teacher, who works under the authority of the French Ministry of Education, is in charge of the pedagogical activities of the French School Jules Verne. It is her/his responsibility to ensure that our pedagogical activities are in line with the educational programme defined by the AEFE.

A small school part of an international network.

A joint management: the parents of the support association and the Head teacher work together for the best of the school.
