The French School Jules Verne is managed by a non-profit association.
Our financial resources come mainly from the school fees. In addition to the tuition fees, other fees may apply, such as lunch fees and childcare fees, according to the families’ needs. Families can apply for different grants depending on their child’s age. Fees are paid monthly.
Cost examples
From age 3 to age 6
Families who are eligible for Finnish social service allowances (Kela), pay themselves between 447-530 euros / month/ child for a school service between 8:35 and 15:30, including lunch. Other fees, such as afternoon care, may be added according to the families’s needs.
From age 7 to age 11
School fees amount to 576 euros / month, including lunch. To this, can be added afternoon care costs. Other costs may apply according to the families’ needs.
Financial support 2023-2024
Finnish state support: Eligible families can apply for private daycare allowance from Kela (yksityisen hoidon tuki). They can also apply for city support for children under 7 years old, according to their revenues. You can calculate the total amount of subsidies on the Kela website. Foreign families may also be eligible for these subsidies.
Helsinki City support: Families living in Helsinki can receive support from the Early childhood education service. For the school year 2023-2024, children born in 2018 receive 160 €(from August until May) in addition to Kela subsidy. From August 2022, Helsinki city grants 150 € sibling reduction if at least two children are attending early childhood education.
All the children in CP grade receive 520 €/ month from August until May. Kela gives in addition 117,00 €/ month from August until May and 602 €/ month in June and July.
French grants: French citizens can apply for a grant from France. Please consult the French Embassy website.
School fees per age group (without the subsidy deduction)
Children under 3 years old: 1362 € /month
Over 3 years old (PS-CP) : 893 € /month (12 months)
CE1 to CM2 (7 to 10 years old): 420 € /month (11 months)

Morning care: 2,75 € /day
Afternoon care: 5,60 € /hour + 2,00 € /snack
Afterschool clubs: 7,90 € /session + 2,00 €/snack
