Mission & Values

As a French school abroad and a member of the network of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), the Ecole Française Jules Verne’s mission is twofold:

The school is accredited by the French Ministry of Education and follows the French national curriculum, ensuring that French children living in Finland will have continuity in their education, with grade levels and curriculum consistent with all French schools around the world. Classroom teachers are French graduate teachers certified by the French Ministry of Education.

As part of this mission, Jules Verne welcomes children from all nationalities and backgrounds, and proficiency in French language is not required for admission before age 5. The school provides French language immersion and introduces non-French speaking children to French through games, songs, and activities to help them build a lifelong interest and facility in the language. In addition Jules Verne works with its partner, the Institut Français to promote French culture and language, organizing events, lectures and courses throughout Finland.
